What am I listening to these days?
24 April, 2011
When you work in a cubicle 5 days a week, you need something good to listen to coming through the headphones. Since a full third of my posts on FlamingBuffalo are YouTube videos of rap songs, I’ll assume you know where my musical tastes lie. But, what about when I’m not rocking out to some Dilla?
One word.
Mr. McGuire: I want to say one word to you. Just one word.
Benjamin Rainman: Yes, sir.
Mr. McGuire: Are you listening?
Benjamin Rainman: Yes, I am.
Mr. McGuire: Podcasts.
This is what gets updated in Instacast:
- You Look Nice Today - probably the best thing on the internet.
- The Talk Show - Apple, Bond, Baseball.
- Back to Work - Surprisingly inspirational, expectedly funny.
- The Sound of Young America - Interviews with awesome people.
- Jordan Jesse Go - Jesse Thorn, making it acceptable for a professional, late 20s white guy to listen to rap music.
- Sklarboro Country - Funny dudes and sports.
- Judge John Hodgman - Judge John Hodgman rules. In this case, literally.
- The Daily Edition - Dan Benjamin, being awesome.
- Hypercritical - John Siracusa complains about things.
- MacBreak Weekly - Andy Inhatko is awesome
- Doug Loves Movies - a pothead talking about movies with famous people? Sweet.
- My Brother, My Brother and Me - advice, but not good advice.
- Put This On - sandwich AND Jesse Thorn?
- The Big Web Show - Zeldman is nerd royalty.
- The Incomparable Podcasts - nerds talking movies.
- Let’s Make Mistakes - Mike Monteiro being less funny than on twitter, but still amusing.
Most are once weekly, others are less frequent, but right now they come out to where I almost always have something new to listen to when I want something. And that’s pretty awesome.
