From the blog of Philip Greenspan
The stockholders, creditors, and employees of G.M. do not deserve to be spared the pain of the recession. The rest of America will be taking pay cuts, losing jobs, giving discounts to customers, etc. What is special about G.M. that they should be able to live as though 2008 never happened?
No, GM is not special. The employees already paid in the 70s, 80s and 90s for corporate greed. The whole state of Michigan paid. Detroit and Flint paid.
Michigan took it's hit and just wants the same bailout that was given the rich Manhattanites of the banking industry. And if we can save Gordon Gecko why can we save an entire state for less money?
(link to the blog came from Daring Fireball. Who, for like the first time since i've been reading his blog, is flat out wrong.)
