Poll Shows

People in Chicago are stupid

Yet many supporters--as well as a vast majority of those opposed to bringing the Games here--don't buy the idea that private funds will cover nearly all the costs. Mayor Richard Daley's push for the Games was favored by 64 percent and opposed by 28 percent in the poll of registered voters from Chicago and the suburbs.

I mean some cities tried for literally 50 years to host an Olympics:

And Chicago, a finalist for the 2016 games, is worried about the money? How many jobs would that create, albeit temporary? How many tourists, who may return many times, would that bring in? How much would that benefit in helping a city get out from under New York's shadow? And it's not just one city - the games would help the whole midwest, which as you may have heard if you live in the world, is kinda struggling lately (by lately I, of course, mean the last 30 years).

So get with it Chicago - do your part. I mean Japan already got all the midwestern automotive jobs, lets not give them the olympics too.
