Cool Icon, Pointless App

Mozilla announces Snowl (the name, apparently, is a web 2.0 mashup of snow owl... ugh)

From what I'm reading it looks like it's basically an integrated IM/RSS Feed Reader/Browser/Forum. It just seems like a bad idea to me. For one, I don't like to use a web browser any more than I have to, I normally have Mail, NetNewsWire and Adium running at all times. I do this because these apps all run very light on the system, unlike a browser which can bog an entire system down after a couple of hours. Also, who want's to have to open up a browser window to send an IM, or comment on something they can access without a browser - even if it is in reference to an RSS feed? I already can do everything Snowl seems to be trying to shove in one window, but can do it in multiple windows so I can actually organize my data how I want.

And, as they would say on Dickipedia, choosing a name like shows how Mozilla wants the hype of Apple's forthcoming "Snow Leopard" OS so bad they can... well, you get the idea.

Update:
After playing with Snowl for a half hour I think it's even worse. But it is a 0.1 release, so I'll come back to it when it's done, but for now I don't like it!
