Admirable… i think

I have been watching the health care coverage today (with bits and pieces of the NCAA tournament mixed in) and something about the entire process has struck me. No matter how one feels about the merits of the bill, or about the Dems. that look to be on the verge of passing it; the attitude they have taken on is nothing short of admirable.

After years of being viewed as spineless politicians who make pretty speeches during campaigns but legislate to not lose any votes the Democrats have finally decided to live and die by their politics.

Again, regardless of what you think about this piece of legislation, I think we’re seeing something heartening in American politics - Politicians not playing it safe before an elections.

This is how it is supposed to work. Using this bill as the example: they campaigned on progressive ideals, they got elected, now they are about to vote with their ideals without regard to November. And if their constituents don’t like those ideals anymore they can vote for someone else.

Simple as that.
